On top of Pearl's Hill City Park is a reservior that hold our water from Johor. Pearl's Hill City Park is right in the centre of Chinatown. But it is relatively unknown to many. The Park is serene with many large natured trees providing much needed shade. Up here, you can have panoramic views of the Chinatown area. If you haven't been here before, come once, at least, to enjoy this City Park.

Nice view of the city from certain areas but nothing much at the top of the hill. It is quiet even during Sunday afternoons.

Love this quiet park without cyclists. The flights of stairs are indeed great workout for us. Watch for red ants on the floor if you are bring your pet..

Clean, Nice city view among the trees Good walking paths, a bit noisy from constructing the buildings nearby. But definitely a gem for whoever seeks for a nice city view :)

Nice park which, while on the top of the hill and seemingly visible from all the neighborhoods around, remains a bit hidden, natural and quiet. Walking paths circle the summit which is capped by a protected water catchment with thick stone walls built with hints of the style of castles. Similar in this way to the catchment at the summit in Fort Canning Park. A small pond has sitting areas, nice views of Chinatown, the CBD and more follow you on the paths as you hike.

Very disappointing park. The views on one side are mainly of run down old buildings or of construction and on the other side you just see a fence protecting the resvoir. The park is hard to access and if you walk around you mainly encounter narrow concrete stairs. There is one spot with a nice view, but the lake there was dirty and contained some trash.

Perhaps a nice place in the day time but during night time can be quite scary due to there’s very or little people there and also abit of a hilly walk

Pearl's Hill City Park a very lovely, somehow less known park, built around a reservoir on top of Pearl's Hill. It is behind Outram MRT station and you find it between Chinatown and Chin Swee Road. The 9-hectare park is a great place to take a good break from the rush and noise of the city. Nothing really spectacular but nice city views, Tembusu trees, green plants, rest areas and quietness. Pearl's Hill, once Mount Stamford, was owned by Chinese who had settled there before Stamford Raffles' arrival. Captain James Pearl, the captain of the Indiana which sailed Sir Stamford Raffles to Singapore in 1819, liked this hill, began acquiring plot after plot until he owned the entire hill and built his house on top in 1822. The Reservoir was built from 1898-1904 and is one of the oldest surviving reservoirs built by the British. It holds drinking water and is all fenced up, as such the Park is built around the Reservoir. Note: Pearl's Hill (now at 45meter) used to be higher than Fort Canning Hill, but the British decided to cut off the top, lowering its peak below the newly built Fort Canning.
